I am so sorry to have found evidence of the passing of Chris Robinson. He was a friend, and a teammate. It is difficult to think of a kinder, more gentle soul. I am sure he is missed by all who knew him.
I made an effort to locate Chris over the past couple of years that have been spent getting back in touch with people from decades ago, but it was too late, I guess. We were both present starting at La Canada Elementary. But we were both PRESENT and more on the B Football team in 10th grade, where we became friends. It was a hot frying pan of a La Cañada summer, practicing on the Cornishon field (pretty sure it was there). Maybe that made appreciation of that friendship last better. A good guy to remember.
I've been wondering about Chris and why he wasn't at any of the reunions... especially when I saw his name on the "missing" list. I remember him fondly in Jr. High. We had a 9th grade English class together. He was - and all through LCHS - one of the sweetest, kindest classmates. By chance, I met up with him in April, 1967 at BYU. I was on Easter break (CA.) and visiting my heartthrob who was also a Freshman like Chris at BYU. Well.... my heartthrob dumped me and Chris borrowed a friend's car and "rescued" me from a very hurtful situation. That's the kind of friend he was - a caring, sensitive guy indeed. I never saw him after that.... and am so sorry that I never had a chance to thank him and tell him how grateful I was for his kindness during those painful days in Provo, Utah. He will be missed! God bless that sweet soul.
