Chuck was one of the Unforgettables of my experience growing up. He was that sort of one-of-a-kind guy you thought was only in books or movies. I envied his "uniqueness". I was drawn to his character--I mean, as if he were a character in a book or a movie. There was an attraction, if only to the energy and the singularity. I never knew what was going to come out of that mouth next. But it always got to me. It always opened up something I'd never considered, or thought about before. The twinkling blue (or green?) eyes punctuated everything perfectly. So "character" in every since of the word. My life--the lives of all of us--would have been poorer without him at least being on the edge of it. And "on the edge of it" seemed to be where he liked it. Miss you Chuck.
