Thinking back, Debbie Summers was the visual definition of "perky"--someone who helped light up the environment similar by being a part of it. I don't remember that she was particularly active or that she stood out, but I remember a sense of her contributing by virtue of a quiet energy.

Debbie was a good friend of mine in elementary school.  She lived close to La Canada Elem. and I spent the night at her house.  Her mom was nice and her sisters were Spring and Summer.  Her brother helped me with long multiplication in the 4th grade.  She left too soon.  Merry Sue Hyatt

I didn't know Debbie well in school and can remember having only one short conversation with her in 12th grade.  After LCHS we were reintrouced by our mutual good friend, Bev Abbott.  Debbie loved cruising Bob's Big Boy in my Corvair convertible and going to concerts at the Hullabaloo on the Sunset Strip.  Above all, she lover our daughter and I'm sure she would be proud of the woman that Jennifer has become.  Debbie passed away in 1974.
