Was there a brighter flame burning more intensely once Nancy got revved up on a project? She was one of those people who wears you out just standing next to the heat they generate, let alone the sapping pangs of guilt you feel because of what they can accomplish in the time it takes you to decide you have better things to do.
I don't know how to post this on the "In Memory" site -- Nancy died on New Year's Day - January 1, 2003. I not only sang at her wedding but, also at her funeral. :( She was my very first true friend when we moved from the Bay Area - Lafayette, CA to La Cañada. I started in 4th grade at La Cañada Elem. School and she offered to carry my books -- eventhough soon after that first introduction, we both realized that my parents (and relatives) all went to CAL and her parents were Stanford-ites through and through. We kept a running "all in fun" feud going all through High School! She was a wonderful, faithful friend to the end.
